Leadership Macomb XXVIII Graduation Celebration Recap
Leadership Macomb proudly celebrated the graduation of the Leadership Macomb Class XXVIII, the Best Class Ever, marking the culmination of a transformative 10-month journey of learning, leadership development, and community engagement.
The evening began with networking, drinks, and a buffet dinner, providing graduates, alumni, community leaders, and supporters an opportunity to connect and celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of XXVIII.
Leadership Macomb Board President Jim Marchand welcomed guests and reflected on the organization's ongoing commitment to developing informed and engaged leaders throughout Macomb County. Executive Director Karen Smith, along with class representative Michael Bowers of the Detroit Zoological Society, provided a look back at the experiences, challenges, and memorable moments that defined the LM XXVIII journey.
Class speakers Joe Schotthoefer of Doetsch Environmental Services, Erika DeLange of SMART Bus, and Adrian L. Lewis, Sr. of Forgotten Harvest shared personal reflections on the impact of the program, highlighting the relationships built, lessons learned, and inspiration gained throughout the year.
The evening's keynote address was delivered by Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, who encouraged graduates to continue serving as collaborative leaders and ambassadors for positive change within their organizations and communities.
The celebration concluded with the presentation of graduation plaques by Leadership Macomb Program Manager Julie Petkoff and Amy Persyn from First State Bank.
