Selection Process

The people who participate in the Leadership Macomb Program are an important dynamic. The knowledge and professional insight that the members of the class bring to each session helps to shape the program making the experience unique every year. For this reason the Leadership Macomb Selection Committee carefully chooses up to 35 participants annually from a variety of disciplines to ensure the learning environment is enhanced through group interaction, the diversity of the presenters, the panelists and the members of the class. The information provided on the application is also carefully reviewed. The Selection Committee looks for potential participants who fulfill the following criteria:

  • A sincere concern about the future of Macomb County. A demonstrated commitment through past and present community activities.
  • A willingness to join, inform and provide information on community issues and concerns, and to develop and implement solutions to those issues.
