Environment Day took place on May 18, 2011. The objectives for the day were:

1. Increase knowlege of local government issues in the county, including water, waste management, land use, growth and development and alternative energy sources
2. Increase knowledge of the impact of human activities on the environment.
3. Understand the role of government in environmental issues.
